Application Overview

Modern car parking facilities, like many ITS applications (Intelligent Transportation Systems) are seeing the integration of car park access control technology with process automation technology to achieve seamless management, 24 hour access, high reliability and ease in accounting.

Whether a car park is attended or unattended, lighting control, ticket dispensers, surveillance and voice communications can all be networked using the JetBox 9532 embedded networking platform. When a vehicle or person enters or leaves the car park, lights can be turned on/off, parking tickets can be issued and paid for, and access can be controlled based on ticket validation. Using the networking capabilities of the JetBox 9532, IP surveillance systems and IP intercoms can be integrated into the network, and the ticketing management system can be integrated with an accounting system offsite through the advanced routing functions. The JetBox 9532 features Power over Ethernet, RS-232 serial, and digital inputs and outputs, integrated on an embedded linux ready platform, allowing for intelligent networking and communications applications to be implemented.
